“Not So Basic” Ponytails: Hairstyles You Can Do In 10 Minutes Or Less!

Raise your hand if you love feeling put together, but hate how long it can take (raises both hands, plus feet for added emphasis).

If you are anything like me (and I’m going to guess you are since you’re reading this blog) having your hair down sounds nice in theory, but about 5 minutes in you are ready to put it up. I am running around all day, with a baby who LOVES to pull anything within his reach (e.g. my hair) and I can’t stand having things in my face. It drives me nuts. So I usually end up wearing my hair up in either the mom bun (you know the one you threw up without a mirror with an elastic band you found in the couch cushions) or a basic ponytail. Neither of these hairstyles make me feel good about how I look.

So I have compiled 3 of the quickest, easiest, most flattering, “not so basic” ways to wear your hair up so you can keep your hair out of your face and still feel dolled up!

Relationship Rules: The Key To A Successful Relationship

In light of our third anniversary, I thought I’d write up a post on the most important things I’ve learned in the first few years of being in a serious relationship.

As I got older and more experienced in the dating world, I began to realize what is and isn’t important to me, and more importantly, what does and doesn’t work. I knew exactly what I wanted when Bryn and I started dating and he checked every single one of the boxes, and more, within the the first couple of weeks. It was only one month and I knew he was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with(sorry, but this article is going to be filled with corny stuff like this).

5 Products To Get You Through Pregnancy

Before having a baby, the thought of being pregnant sounded amazing and magical, and I was so excited for it. I thought I knew exactly what it was going to be like. I was going to grow this cute little belly (although I did like my belly, little was not the word I’d use to describe it), I’d wear these cute outfits to show off the bump (Ha! When nothing fits you wear whatever you can), and I’d have this glowing skin and luscious hair (okay, the hair part was true).

Teeth! Helping Your Baby Through The Teething Phase

Teething is a tricky phase because there are so many different signs of teething, it happens at different ages, for different lengths of time, and at different levels of intensity for every baby. My son started teething at 3 months, and nobody believed us when we told them he had two teeth at 3.5 months! We didn’t even realize that was what was happening at the time since it felt so early and weren’t aware of all the teething symptoms.

Surviving The Sleep Regressions

I am writing this post through tired, no… exhausted, eyes because I have just come out of the 4 month sleep regression. I honestly didn’t think I would make it. That may sound extreme but 8 weeks straight of waking up every 1-2 hours at night, and only 30 minute naps during the day makes you feel like you’re going crazy. Oh, and on top of that, he cut two teeth at the same time… Yikes!

My Favourite MAC Lipsticks For Fall

For as long as I can remember I have had a special place in my heart for MAC lipsticks. They’re kind of the OG’s in my mind. I’ve spent more than I’d like to admit on them but honestly, they are totally worth it.

One of the reasons I love fall so much, besides being a girl (sorry but we all know how much girls love fall), is the array of lipsticks which are on trend during the season. You’ve got nudes, browns, berries, dark colours, and reds. I really can’t think of another season that has that many colour choices!

Look Good, Feel Good: How to Look Put Together with Minimal Effort

Ladies,

I know we all want to look our best every day.

I also know that nobody wants to get up at 4 am to make this happen.

I will be the first to say it, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your sleep for looking good. But now that I only get sleep in 2-3 hour chunks at a time, I found myself at a crossroads. Do I want to go out everyday looking like I’ve just come back from the dead? Or do I suck it up and wake up even earlier than I already do to to put makeup on and look human again?
