Unless you have been living under a rock for the past month, you have probably heard about the new Netflix show Tidying Up with Marie Kondo.
With the show coming out right as the new year kicked off, I quickly jumped on Netflix, notebook in hand and ready to learn, and binge watched the show quicker than I would like to admit (2 days.. whoops..). After finishing the series I was left with an insane urge to throw out our entire apartment.
So that is exactly what I did. Sort of.

I had been sitting on my bed, naked, for almost a half an hour at this point. Tears streaming down my face uncontrollably while I stared at my clothes littered all over the floor. Nothing fit me right. There were rolls on my body in places I didn’t even know could roll. I felt ashamed and self-conscious and I resented my body for looking like this.
I hated my mom body.

One of the biggest questions I get asked since starting the blog is “who takes your photos?”. When I tell them I take my own photos, most respond with a shocked look on their face and are curious to know how I do it!

It’s the end of the month which means it’s time for the round up of my favourite products! I love doing these kinds of posts because I am the kind of person who will find something I love, and use nothing else but that for weeks on end. That being said, there aren’t many products that I love enough to get to that point, so when I do find those holy grail items, I need to share them!

It has been a hot minute since I wrote a post where I just poured my feelings out about a topic. This lesson is one that I have come to learn the value of very quickly and will preach to anyone who will listen to me.
The empowerment that comes from supporting others is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.

How many of us can honestly say that we practice self care ever week?
Probably not enough of us.
Raising a family is so incredibly taxing on our bodies and time, and we often forget to slow down and take care of ourselves. You’re most likely running around after children, carrying babies, drinking cold coffee, with hair that’s been in the same bun for the last 4 days.

Before having Rhys I was such a high performer. I worked multiple jobs at a time and clocked in more hours than I probably should have. But I loved it. I loved feeling accomplished at the end of my days. Around the end of my pregnancy I started to slow down due to physical limits. I couldn’t be on my feet for too long, and walking and moving around caused a lot of discomfort. It was one of the most difficult things to accept during my pregnancy. I essentially had to limit my daily activities to a minimum, otherwise I was in pain for days after. I felt totally unlike myself and I could not wait to get back to being able to jam packed my days once Rhys was born.
Boy, was I wrong about that. Continue reading “Work Smarter, Not Harder: Working At Home With A Baby”
October has been a big month in our household. Birthdays, Thanksgiving, anniversaries, and the launch of my blog! With all those things going on I’ve accumulated some really great products which have been staples in my day to day life this month.
So here are my favourite items I’ve been loving in October!

In light of our third anniversary, I thought I’d write up a post on the most important things I’ve learned in the first few years of being in a serious relationship.
As I got older and more experienced in the dating world, I began to realize what is and isn’t important to me, and more importantly, what does and doesn’t work. I knew exactly what I wanted when Bryn and I started dating and he checked every single one of the boxes, and more, within the the first couple of weeks. It was only one month and I knew he was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with(sorry, but this article is going to be filled with corny stuff like this).
