Okay, mamas ! A couple weeks back I posted my tips for having great hair day, everyday and a ton of you said you had NOT tried dry shampoo before… my mind was blown.
I am an avid dry shampoo user since, let’s be real, what mom really has time to wash their hair as much as they probably should? Not I, that is for sure!
In this post you will find all of my top picks of dry shampoo from affordable to high end, colourless and coloured, scents and more!

Pro Tip: Don’t spray the dry shampoo directly on the top layer of your hair. Section your hair horizontally working your way down from your part, and spray the under layer of your sections to avoid any white casts on your roots.
Best Affordable Dry Shampoo
You know I’m all about finding the best products for the best price, so of course I’m going to start this round up with the most affordable dry shampoo! The Batiste Dry Shampoo is a cult favourite and hands down the best most affordable dry shampoo you can find. It does a great job of absorbing the oils, without being too heavy. They’ve got 17 different kinds ranging including a coloured line (both natural and bold!), volumizing, and conditioning. You can also snag these at Dollarama if you’re lucky!
Best High- End Dry Shampoo
The Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo is a new one for me, but oh man is it good! It is a little more expensive than what I’d like to be paying for a dry shampoo, considering how much I use them, but it is so worth the money. The crisp and fresh scent leaves your hair feeling and smelling like you’ve just stepped out of the shower. It’s made without any aluminum startch or talc so you are left with a much cleaner feel to the hair than some of the other dry shampoos. You are getting what you pay for with this product.
Best Volumizing Dry Shampoo
The Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1 product is one that does it all. Not only does it absorb oils and work as a dry shampoo, it also adds texture and lift to hair for that full, “I just got a fresh blowout” look. This is a product to use when you are looking for that clean and fresh look, but you’re okay with a bit of grit to the hair. The volumizing and texturizing properties in it give it a great look but you won’t find it gives you clean feel.
Best Brunette Dry Shampoo
If you have ever tried to use dry shampoo on dark hair, you know that it can be a royal disaster sometimes. Some dry shampoos can leave a white cast on the hair sometimes and when you have darker hair, it can leave you with white roots. Finding a good dark toned dry shampoo can be difficult but the Moroccan Oil Dark Tones Dry Shampoo has got to be one of the best I’ve tried for brown hair. It leaves your hair feeling clean and shiny, without the white cast at the roots!
Best Dry Shampoo for Dry Hair
When you have hair which is lacking a little moisture in it, dry shampoo can leave it feeling extra brittle. The TRESemme Fresh Start Basic Care Dry Shampoo is great because it absorbs the oils without drying out your ends. Not to mention the price is SO right with this product. It’s a win-win, really.
As moms, we have enough things on our plate to worry about. Don’t let your hair be one of them! Toss in some dry shampoo and tackle the day.
